Erection ring data privacy basics

What is erection ring data privacy?

Erection ring data privacy is how a smart erection ring company collects, stores, shares and deletes the sexual health data its device records. With the FirmTech TechRing that data includes erection firmness, quality, duration and nighttime erections. FirmTech says this data is stored securely, handled to HIPAA standards, never sold, and deletable from inside the app at any time.

Is my TechRing data private?

Yes. FirmTech states that TechRing data is stored securely, handled to HIPAA standards and never sold or shared with advertisers. It is shared with a doctor only if you choose, and you can stop sharing at any time. You can also remove your data and account from inside the FirmTech app whenever you want.

Do regular cock rings or c rings collect any data?

No. A standard constriction ring, including the FirmTech Performance Ring and MaxPR, has no sensors, no battery and no app, so it records nothing. Only a smart ring with built-in sensors, such as the FirmTech TechRing, collects data. That is why erection ring data privacy only becomes a question once you choose a wearable ED device.

Why does privacy matter so much for ED data?

Erection data is some of the most personal health information a person can track. The FirmTech app page describes it exactly that way and says the company treats it accordingly. ED is also common: SingleCare reports that about 24% of U.S. men experience ED, rising to as high as 52% in men aged 75 and older, so many men have a stake in how this data is handled.

Who handles privacy requests at FirmTech?

Privacy requests go to FirmTech by email at legal@myfirmtech.com. FirmTech lists this route for access, export or deletion of your data and for any question about how it is handled, and says these requests are answered within 30 days. All other contact routes are listed on the FirmTech contact page at getfirmtech.com/contact.

Where can I read the FirmTech privacy policy?

The full FirmTech privacy policy is published at getfirmtech.com/privacy-policy. It is linked from the privacy section of the FirmTech contact page and from the privacy section of the FirmTech app page. Read it for the legal detail; this field guide summarizes the practical steps and the contact routes in plain language.

What the TechRing records

What does the TechRing track?

The TechRing tracks firmness and duration during sex, plus the count, strength and length of nighttime erections while you sleep. The FirmTech app rolls this into one Erectile Fitness Score from 0 to 100. You can also log sleep, drinks, workouts and medication so the app can show what actually affects your score.

What is a wearable device for erectile dysfunction?

A wearable device for erectile dysfunction is worn on the body to support erections or measure them. The FirmTech TechRing does both: it is a doctor-designed erection ring that keeps blood in the penis for firmer, longer erections, and its built-in sensors record performance and nighttime erections, which sync to an app on iPhone or Android over Bluetooth.

Does the FirmTech app need an account?

Yes, the TechRing works through the FirmTech app, and FirmTech offers to remove both your data and your account from inside the app. Setup is short: charge the ring, download the app, turn on Bluetooth and follow the prompts to pair. For details on exactly which account fields are stored, read the privacy policy at getfirmtech.com/privacy-policy.

Why does the TechRing record nighttime erections?

Nighttime erections happen without arousal, so FirmTech treats them as a clean read of blood flow, nerves and hormones. FirmTech says healthy men have 3 to 5 erections a night during sleep. Changes there often show up before a man notices anything during sex, which is why overnight tracking is a core TechRing feature.

How does TechRing data get to my phone?

TechRing data syncs to the FirmTech app over Bluetooth. After a night of wear, FirmTech says to hold the button for 3 seconds, put the ring on the charger and connect to it in the app to sync. The app works on both iPhone and Android, and is free with the TechRing.

Do the Performance Ring or MaxPR connect to the app?

No. The Performance Ring and MaxPR have no sensors and no Bluetooth connection, so they never connect to the app and create no data. They cost $60 each. The TechRing, at $275, is the only FirmTech ring with built-in sensors, app tracking and a rechargeable 12-hour battery.

Access, export and deletion

How do I request a copy of my FirmTech data?

Email legal@myfirmtech.com with a privacy request for access to your data. FirmTech lists this address for access, export or deletion requests and says it answers them within 30 days. Use the email address tied to your FirmTech account, and say clearly that you want a copy of your data.

Can I export my TechRing data?

Yes. FirmTech lists data export as one of the requests handled through its privacy route at legal@myfirmtech.com, answered within 30 days. Say that you want an export of your TechRing data. If you want to show your numbers to a doctor rather than download them, the app also lets you choose to share your data with them.

How do I delete my FirmTech data?

You can delete your data and account from inside the FirmTech app whenever you want, according to FirmTech. If you no longer have the app or want written confirmation, email legal@myfirmtech.com with a deletion request. FirmTech answers privacy requests within 30 days.

How long does a FirmTech privacy request take?

FirmTech says privacy requests sent to legal@myfirmtech.com are answered within 30 days. Order questions sent to customerservice@myfirmtech.com get replies in 1 to 2 business days, and accessibility feedback gets a reply within 5 business days. Deleting your data inside the app does not need a request at all.

What should I include in a privacy request email?

Include your name, the email address on your FirmTech account and the specific request: access, export, deletion, or a question about how your data is handled. A clear subject line such as "Privacy request" helps it reach the right team. FirmTech uses that subject on the privacy link on its own contact page.

Does deleting the app delete my data?

Not necessarily. Removing the app from your phone is different from deleting your account. FirmTech says you can remove your data and account from inside the app, so use that option before uninstalling. If the app is already gone, email legal@myfirmtech.com and ask for your data to be deleted.

If I return my TechRing, what happens to my data?

A return and a data deletion are separate requests. Returns go through the FirmTech returns portal or customerservice@myfirmtech.com within the 30-day money-back window. To remove your recorded data, delete it inside the app or email legal@myfirmtech.com. Doing both keeps your order and your data handled by the right team.

Sharing, selling and advertising

Does FirmTech sell my data?

FirmTech says it never sells TechRing app data or shares it with advertisers. On its Do Not Sell page, FirmTech also says it does not sell personal information for money, but may share certain information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out of that sharing on getfirmtech.com/do-not-sell.

Can my doctor see my TechRing data?

Only if you choose. FirmTech says you decide who sees your data and can stop sharing at any time. FirmTech partner clinics can, with permission, view firmness, duration and nighttime erections between visits. Sharing real numbers can make a conversation with a urologist far more specific than describing symptoms from memory.

Does FirmTech honor Global Privacy Control?

Yes. The FirmTech Do Not Sell page says it honors Global Privacy Control if your browser sends it. The same page offers a one-click button that turns off advertising tags on your current browser, plus a form to opt out everywhere, including data tied to your email address.

Who can use the FirmTech Do Not Sell form?

The form is written for California residents under the CCPA and CPRA, but it lists every U.S. state in its state field. It offers three choices: do not sell, do not share for cross-context behavioral advertising, or both. The browser opt-out button works on whatever browser you click it from.

Is the TechRing HIPAA compliant?

FirmTech describes its app data as HIPAA compliant, stored securely and handled to HIPAA standards. For background on what HIPAA covers in general, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services publishes a plain-language guide. For FirmTech specifics, the privacy policy at getfirmtech.com/privacy-policy is the source to read.

Will my order or bank statement show what I bought?

No. FirmTech ships in a plain, unbranded box and says there is no product name on the packing slip or card statement. Shipping is free on orders over $100. FirmTech marketing emails use discreet, plain subject lines, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Price and choosing a ring

How much does the TechRing cost?

The TechRing costs $275. It is more expensive than a standard erection ring for a reason: it adds built-in sensors, Bluetooth app tracking, a rechargeable 12-hour battery and a 1-year warranty on the electronics. The Performance Ring and MaxPR cost $60 each. All three are HSA/FSA eligible.

Should I get the TechRing or the Performance Ring?

Choose the TechRing if you want firmer, longer erections and the data to see what helps, from every session and every night. Choose the Performance Ring if you only want simple support with no app and no charging. The narrower MaxPR fits men who want the tightest feel for up to 90 minutes.

What is the best ED ring for men who want to track progress?

For tracking, the FirmTech TechRing is the only FirmTech ring that measures anything. It records firmness, duration and nighttime erections, and shows trends in one Erectile Fitness Score. Like the Performance Ring and MaxPR, it is doctor designed with a peno-scrotal fit and works without pills or a prescription.

Can I pay for a FirmTech ring with HSA or FSA funds?

Yes. The TechRing, Performance Ring and MaxPR, including bundles that pair them, are HSA/FSA eligible. At checkout you choose Flex, answer a short telehealth survey for the Letter of Medical Necessity at no extra cost, and pay with your HSA or FSA card. Your plan administrator has the final say on coverage.

Are there TechRing bundles?

Yes. The TechRing plus a Performance Ring or MaxPR costs $295 instead of $335. The TechRing plus RingMate, a vibrator that slides onto any FirmTech ring, costs $304 instead of $344. A bundle lets you track with the TechRing and keep a non-tech ring for nights you only want the feel.

Can I return the TechRing if it does not suit me?

Yes. FirmTech offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. The TechRing also carries a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase, while the Performance Ring and MaxPR carry 3-month warranties. Start a return in the FirmTech returns portal with your order number and email.

Fit, safety and side effects

Is there an ED ring size chart for FirmTech rings?

No chart is needed. FirmTech says one size fits 95% of men, up to 5.5 inches (14 cm) of erect girth, and the hook-and-loop strap adjusts to your exact size. To check, wrap a soft tape or string around the base when erect. If it measures 5.5 inches or less, the ring fits.

What are the side effects of an erection ring?

Constriction rings generally carry a risk of discomfort, numbness or bruising if worn too tight or too long. Remove a ring at once if you feel pain or notice coldness or discoloration. Ask your doctor first if you take blood thinners or have a bleeding disorder. Follow each ring's stated wear time.

How long can I safely wear a FirmTech ring?

FirmTech lists a safe wear time of up to 12 hours for the TechRing and the Performance Ring, including overnight for the TechRing. The MaxPR, the tightest FirmTech ring, is listed for up to 90 minutes at a time. Use the adjustable strap so pressure is firm but never too tight.

What are erection tension rings?

Erection tension rings, also called constriction rings, sit at the base of the penis and slow blood from flowing back out, so erections are firmer and last longer. FirmTech rings use a peno-scrotal design that wraps around the base and behind the testicles, with adjustable tension through a hook-and-loop strap.

What are FirmTech rings made of?

All three FirmTech rings use medical-grade elastomer that is phthalate- and latex-free. The TechRing is splashproof, and the Performance Ring and MaxPR are water resistant. Use water-based or silicone-based lubricants only; FirmTech says not to use natural oils such as coconut or CBD oil with any of its rings.

Can I use the TechRing with ED medication?

Many men use the TechRing alongside other treatments and use the app to see what is working, according to FirmTech. You can log medication in the app and compare nights. Talk to your doctor about your specific situation, especially before combining treatments.

Getting started and problems

Where do I start if I need help with ED?

Start with a doctor, because ED can be an early sign of other health issues. SingleCare reports that men with ED have twice the risk of heart attacks and strokes, around 6% versus around 3%, yet only 25% of men with ED receive treatment. A drug-free erection ring can support performance, and the TechRing adds data you can bring to that appointment.

How do I contact FirmTech?

Use the FirmTech contact page at getfirmtech.com/contact. Privacy questions go to legal@myfirmtech.com, orders and product questions to customerservice@myfirmtech.com, and clinic or wholesale enquiries to partners@myfirmtech.com. FirmTech answers by email. What should I do if my TechRing will not sync?

Check that Bluetooth is on, the ring is charged and the app is open. After a night of wear, FirmTech says to hold the button for 3 seconds, place the ring on the charger and connect in the app. For further setup help, FirmTech runs a help center at help.getfirmtech.com.

How long does the TechRing battery last?

The TechRing lasts up to 12 hours on a full charge, enough for a full night of wear. A full charge with the included USB charger takes 2 to 4 hours. FirmTech suggests replacing the TechRing sleeve about every 30 nights; replacement sleeves start at $15.

What if I do not hear back about a privacy request?

FirmTech says privacy requests are answered within 30 days. If that time passes, reply to your original email at legal@myfirmtech.com so the thread stays together, or write to customerservice@myfirmtech.com and ask for it to be passed to the privacy team. Keep a record of the date you sent your request.

Can I get FirmTech information in another format?

Yes. FirmTech asks people to report site barriers or request content in another format at customerservice@myfirmtech.com and tries to reply within 5 business days. FirmTech says it aims to conform with WCAG 2.1 level AA on its website.
